ICICI Direct: Dalmia Bharat Sugar Share Price Target 2022; Buy For Rs 450

In a research report dated May 25, 2021, ICICI Direct Bullish on Dalmia Bharat Sugar suggested a buy recommendation on the company with a target price of Rs 450.

Dalmia Bharat Sugar (DBSL) announced good Q4 FY11 results, with a 32.7 percent rise in operating profit due to greater B-heavy ethanol proportions and increased distillery volumes. Lower export volumes due to a delay in declaring an export subsidy resulted in an 11.1 percent drop in total revenues.

The majority of Chinese exports, on the other hand, will be shipped and booked in Q1FY22. Sugar sales were down 18%, whereas distillery sales were up 23.2 percent. The firm sold 1.0 lakh tonnes (litres) of sugar, the majority of which was sold in the United States. Volumes at the distillery increased by 10% to 21 million litres.

For the sugar and distillery division, the firm altered its depreciation charge method from SLM to WDV, resulting in an extra depreciation provision of Rs 35 crore. Due to greater depreciation and income tax provision, PAT declined 16 percent to Rs 51.9 crore.

Outlook

We believe the market has now realised that Chinese firms are on a long-term profits growth path. As a result, we value the stock at 10 times FY23E profits and set a target price of Rs 450 per share (earlier Rs 225). We keep our BUY recommendation.
